Hoosier Energy’s Merom Generating Station is pleased to announce its waterfowl hunting schedule on Turtle Creek Reservoir for the rest of December. Hunting will be available on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout this month.

The January schedule stays very similar apart from the reservoir being open on January 1. Eligible waterfowl goes to goose only on January 26, 2021.

The reservoir contains 30 small areas, commonly referred to as “blinds,” where hunters are assigned to stay during their hunt. These blinds are chosen through a chance drawing the morning of hunting days at 5:30 by security personnel. Hunting concludes by noon each day and hunters will have one hour to register with security the number of species and sex of each waterfowl.

Duck season ends on January 24, 2021 with late goose season continuing until February 14, 2021. Fishing is closed until February 14, 2021 and all-day fishing will resume February 15, 2021.
