2010 Indiana Festival Guide available from electric cooperatives

If you enjoy festivals, historic sites, scenic parks and community events, the 2010 Indiana Festival Guide will point you in the right direction. With 64 pages spotlighting Indiana community events, the guide will help you plan an enjoyable getaway.

The electric cooperatives of the Hoosier Energy power network have demonstrated a commitment to Indiana tourism and festivals for more than 35 years. The co-ops are again helping sponsor and distribute the Festival Guide in 2010.

In partnership with the Indiana Department of Tourism, the Indiana State Festivals Association has taken over publishing the Festival Guide, which originated as a southern Indiana festival map distributed by Hoosier Energy in 1974. Through its Web site at IndianaFestivals.org, the association provides worldwide access to Indiana festivals and events.

"Great volunteers, creative imaginations and communities set the stage for Indiana’s abundance of festivals," said Indiana State Festivals Association President Kirk Works.

Hoosier Energy member co-ops will distribute about 35,000 of the handy booklets throughout 2010 as they demonstrate the Touchstone Energy Cooperative value of commitment to community. The back page of the guide is devoted to an advertisement that communicates the Hoosier Energy power network commitment to helping members use energy more efficiently.

Check at your local REMC/REC for a copy of the latest festival guide.
